See each workshop for the specific Continuing Education Hours offered. Approval has been obtained for many of the programs. Upon request, all otherprofessions will be provided with the paperwork necessary for self-submission.
  1. CEU approval sources: Ohio Counselor and Social Worker CPE hours approved, #RCS030401, by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
  2. Nursing Contact Hours: This offering is approved for 2 or 3 contact hours per class (as specified per class above) by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, SLH Provider #4-0026-12-11-116 through 123, which expires 12/11. Successful completion of this offering includes attending the entire offering and completion of the evaluation. If you arrive late or leave early, you will not be entitled to receive the contact hours. Prime For Life Alcohol & Drug Education, KY DUI Approved

Description:  20 hour PRIME for Life risk reduction program. This 3 week class is an effective alcohol and drug program for court referred individuals or families, and other organizations and employers. Class times (evenings/mornings) vary to accommodate participants' schedules. For court ordered DUI offenses the initial required assessment is available which generates the forms to satisfy court and Dept. of Transportation requirements. Free for 16-25 family members, partners, and friends of individuals with Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Panic Disorder, OCD, Co-Occurring, and Addictive Disorders. 12 weekly classes structured to help caregivers understand and support individuals with serious mental illnesses, while maintaining their own well-being. Description:  Develop an understanding of the foundations for social work ethics and ethical decision making. Define the professional relationship and discuss limits, problems and dilemmas. Develop a further understanding of client self-determination. Define and differentiate between personal, societal and professional values. Participants will discuss case scenarios that pose ethical dilemmas and their potential solutions in community social work settings as well as medical, correctional and school settings. Description:  Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) are 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each yea thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to save the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. Registration not required.

Movie Matinee Double Feature--New Releases with Rave Reviews

Description:  Lets Talk: Kentuckians Affected by Suicide End the Silence, 27 minutes. View the video that is one of the responses to the Kentucky Awareness of Suicide Phone Survey, which was a random digit-dial phone survey of adults across Kentucky. The survey revealed: 64% knew at least one person who had attempted or died by suicide, 40% knew at least one person who had died by suicide, and 33.8% considered themselves to be a "suicide survivor." The Reality of Recovery, 50 minutes. Documentary featuring personal stories from people in recovery from mental disorders. Includes provider highlights on treatment techniques. Video producers present for open discussions to follow. Soda and popcorn provided.
